Hi,

I've recently posted on the General Anxiety forum about my problems. I would like to try a hypnotherapist but am not sure where to start! It seems the usual cost is £60 a session - thats a lot of money!! Any tips on where to get hold of a decent one? Also, are these MP3's or CD's any use?

Finally, is there an online CBT course I can access?

Thanks

Hi Terry

Have a look at the register of therapists at the British Institute of Hypnotherapy (http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~bih/index.html) or the Association of Professional Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists (http://www.aphp.co.uk/) to find a registered hypnotherapist.

I use hypnosis CDs and downloads from here (http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com) which I have found helpful.

It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.

Thanks Karen - is there any chance of getting it on the NHS I wonder???

Also, I wondered if there was a CBT course I can undertake online? I've heard there is one

Hi Terry

I don't think there is much chance of getting hypnotherapy on the NHS as I think it's classed as an alternative therapy... or something life that.

The onlince cbt I am doing is:

It's ok, a lot of answering questions (understandably I guess lol) but it does make a difference.

Good luck.

No Panic do an online telephone recovery course. Do you fancy that?

thanks Tammy and Nicola.

Nicola - could you elaborate on what a telephone recovery course is?

Thanks

Hi Terry

There are further details on the No Panic (http://www.nopanic.org.uk/menu.htm) site.

It involves a phone call for an hour once a week and you join a group of people and discuss the issues. I think you can do one-one-one as well but the waiting list is longer.

I did it many years ago and it was really useful.

It is free apart from the cost of £10 to join the Charity "No Panic".

Give it a go!
