View Full Version : Blood Tests /Adrenalin
I had to have standard blood tests today, blood count, thyroid, liver, kidney and cholesterol level.. It was quite an anxious start to the day for me as im needlephobic. However, the nurse was very understanding and used a very fine needle which are used for children and I literally felt nothing !
I was wondering if these blood tests show increased adrenalin levels ?Does anyone know please ?

Sorry never heard of adrenalin level blood tests Take Care Maggie
Well done for going to get blood test done xxxx
Not as such but anxiety is one of the many causes of neutrophilia which shows up in your white blood cells. Bacterial infections, injury, inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and even exercise can cause this too.
If they find neutrophilia they will arrange for another blood test.

Plasma catecholemines and plasma metanephrines are the tests that check for abnormally elevated adrenal gland activity. It's not common to order them, and it's generally to check for pheochromocytoma.

You normally do a 24 hour urine test for increased adrenalin levels.
