upper stomach pain?

please can anybody tell me have you had this ,i have had tummy pain up high across my tummy more toward the left side no diarra no sickness going through to my back hurts whether i eat or not got worse in night then settled to knorring pain now hurts again plaese advise i did speak to dr out of hours he told me what it wasn t but not what it is im soooo worried and it hurts:shrug::ohmy:

Sounds a lot like acid reflux, try buying some Ranitadine or Gaviscon and see if it helps. I get pain in my stomach and going through to my shoulder blades often and have reflux, like a sharp knife like pain

The strange thing is, this seems to be much more common than it ever was. Or maybe I just missed the posts about it?
Even my daughter mentioned about having this recently.
I wonder what's going on?
