Hi everyone..

I'm currently on 200m of effexor. I've not been getting much sleep lately and was considering taking a sleeping tablet. Does anyone know whether and how sleeping tablets interact with effexor or had any experience taking them on this medication?

I'm only wanting to take an over the counter one (Sominex). Will it make me more drowsy or have any adverse effects?

Thanks

Ask your pharmacist just to make sure but I don't think there are any problems/interactions to worry about. I've taken sleeping tabs and antidepressants many times and still do.

Welcome to the forum btw.
