Hi

I am new to this site, and i am not sure if i should be here. So i will tell my story and hopefully get some input. I always worry about getting a terminal illnes, dying, or just any illness. I can never read the side effects on medication, because i will have the symptoms, or i will fear that i will get them. I have thouht i had cancer, brain tumor, heart attack, etc. I am very fearful of feeling numb and dizzy. For the past year i have an on and off feeling of being off balance. I went to an ent, neurologist, cardiologist, etc nothing was found, but i havent had a MRI of my head in a couple of years. Sometimes when i am out in public i feel air headed along with a list of other symptoms. I am only 25 and i am going through you know what. Right now as i type, i have a weakness feeling along with twitching in my arm and leg, but i still have full strength in the both of them, and i am convinced that it is a brain tumor. But i am afraid to go get an mri. Please help if you can, i dont know whats wrong with me.

Hi Candy and welcome to the site, What you have is so common among most anxiety sufferers with the health anxiety, I have suffered and still do suffer health anxiety but not as bad as if it was a serious health problem I would have been dead years ago. What you have is a typical symptom of anxiety and when you get convinced what you have isn’t life threatening we seem to find another symptom that we think is life threatening. The only advice I can really say is try hard and keep telling yourself its only anxiety so so many suffer the same symptoms. And even though you don’t feel like it try to keep busy as much as possible. Hope you start to feel better soon. Vernon

Hi candy,

welcome to the forum, you will get a lot of good advice here and make some new friends.

You are in the right place as what you describe is typical health anxieties. The best way to deal with this is to stay positive and to try to change your way of thinking.

Take care

Hi Candy

Welcome aboard the forum.

You are suffering from typical Health Anxiety symptoms - take a look at this page on the website...

Health Anxiety (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/NMPcms.php?nmppage=healthanxiety)

This can be best treated with CBT - have you ever tried that?

You will get loads of support on here so stick around ok.

[hi there
Im new to all this, but want to say in a way i can understand what you mean. I am very scared of dying and the unknown of wat will happen when your gone etc. My grandad died last week and i cant get it out of my miind. I sit and wonder what will happen with my daughter if anything happens to me, how will she feel, how will everyone else feel even to the point i wonder to myself who will come to my funeral. I have already made plans to whom will look after my daughter when i am gone. When i feel sick, i wonder if i am ill, i was going through the stage through my anxiety that i would wake up in the night shaking and throw up. I use to lay away throughout the night and think 'im going to die, whats wrong with me'. I dont like to do things that may have a bad outcome, so really i live quite a shallow life. Im only 23 myself and having this disorder, i just hate it i want to live a normal life. I am on tablets 'citilapram' and they do really help. Are you on medication?
Well i hope you will be ok, understand that its not you, its just a natural problem that more people than you think have got.
take care

What you are describing is very common. If you have seen all these doctors then you have to start putting your energies into helping yourself recover from anxiety.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.
