Side effects straight away?

Hi all,

I have started a dosage of 20mg of Citalopram after being on 10mg for many months.

After only one tablet this morning, I am feeling woozy and tired. Also feeling a bit down. Is this normal?

I'm going on holiday in less than two weeks, so I hope it settles by then. :unsure:

Yes could be effects of the double dose of citalopram....dont worry hun should be settled before you go away...

Citalopram survival guide is bang on for advice with this med!

Its normal to feel different with a double dose, this should settle down in a week or two!

Yep, it should settle down soon. When I increased from 20mg to 40mg it took about a week or 2 for me to notice a difference. First couple of weeks I felt a bit unreal and felt like I was looking in from the outside but it does pass. I now feel so much better.

Yup, that's normal. Don't worry about it too much, that might help the side effects pass a little quicker. ;3 Have fun on your trip!

When I started taking Citalopram I had bad side effects. I started taking them at night to sleep through the worst of it!!
