Evening everyone,

This is my second moan today, The citalopram has really been taking out on me and i have been unable to really eat a lot just soup and toast bland things.

Anyway today i really fancied a Macdonalds so i thought i would treat myself to a cheese burger what a mistake that was!
I am in agony with all types of aches in my stomach i have a pain under my left rib, burning in the centre of my stomach, lower stomach ache and back ache. I also feel a lot of pressure in my bottom with a bit of pain never had it before.

Really all this because of a cheese burger and they wonder why i get anxiety, i am 9st its not like i am over weight i dont smoke or drink very often. What the hell is this they say its IBS and Acid Reflux i am on Spasmadol for ibs and Omaprazol 40mg for the acid, but i am not convinced it is this anymore, i have never had any test to confirm or rule out either!!!!

Anyone have any advise?? Thanks

Did they do a colonoscopy? IBS is usually a disease that is diagnosed after everything else is ruled out. I have it - it is bad at times - the cramps are awful.

No they have done nothing only bloods and they did was test for thyroid, kidney, liver and inflammation.

They said i dont need to see a gastro doctors yet i have been in agony for 4 years and this is the main cause for my anxiety. I only suffered with acid reflux they diagnosed IBS 4 months ago the doctor just said sounds like IBS.

Sarah Louise, sorry to hear that you feel so rough. i know how your`e feeling as i have it too not only with my stomach but bladder too. I had an enscopogy and colonoscopogy they they found some small diverticulitis which is rare for my age. On a positive note, if you have had this for 4 years you know it`s not the big C.
Good luck

I have been up all night in agony with stomach ache its doing nothing for my anxiety.
I have always had gastric reflux upper pain but only been last few months of lower pain. I think i am going to ask my doctor to refer me to a specialist because its driving me mad now i feel like i am going crazy. I constantly scan google for answers but they never help only make me worse.

it might be worth getting some multivitamins. SSRI's like citalopram can block your normal absorption of vitamins and minerals, bringing about symptoms such as poor digestion and ibs. try getting some natural sugar free live active culture yoghurt from your supermarket and eat some daily. it will sort out the bacterial balance in your intestines and make it a bit earier. I was also on citalopram and spasmadol. message me if you need to chat x
