Hi Everyone

having a really difficult night - I'm getting married in 10 days, I have been doing so well, after having panic attacks after the birth of my daughter 3 yrs ago. I think the stress of the wedding has brought it all back again. I was on Cipralex but I'd got down to 5 mg and then 2.5mg trying to come off really slowly. Now I've been having panic attacks or acute anxiety attacks for 5 days now and I feel myslef getting worse.
I'm really scared of what might happen even though I've beaten them before and I don't see what I can do to help myself in the next 10 days. This is the first nigth that I've been awake and I know that once I stop sleeping it's a slippery slope, as my anxiety increases.
Sorry for sounding panicked - it's because I am! In my clam afternoons I sound completely different.
I really hope I can find someone to talk to on here and not feel so alone.
Thanks for reading, i'll try to post a more cheerful reply when I get my act together!!

Hiya and welcome

Hope you find some comfort here.

You could discuss with your doctor to increase back up to 5 mg for another month or just riding out this time until it settles again

You have overcome it before and will do it again

Have a lovely wedding and try to minimise the what ifs and dilemmas and stresses from it , those are the bridesmaid jobs.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

Hi Antonia,

Welcome to the forum, you will get a lot of good advice here and make some new friends.

Try to remain positive and find some time for you, in the run up to your wedding, getting married can be a very stressful time and anxiety can be a result of stress. Listen to relaxation cd's, try having a lavender bath and use the breathing techniques that help with panic attacks.

Good luck withe the wedding, stay calm, and most of all enjoy your day.

Take care

Hi Ya !

Sometimes the build up can be a sign that the day will go like a dream. I had my daughter christened a few years ago and it was a huge family event. My Anxiety levels went through the roof. I eventually went to the GP thinking I would have to cancel and she told me to take some star flower oil! and have a head massage the day before so I did.

The morning of the christening I woke up and went into overdrive, coped well and got through it without one damn panic or anxiety attack

Stay positive and have a wonderul day !

You are going to be so happy !

and you can do it
