And now my mums friend is in hospital after collapsing from a clot to the lung.

I can't get away from this fear - how can I convince myself I am no likely to die from this than from getting hit by a bus?:weep:

I know how you feel, but you've had tests done and they have come back negative for clots. Why do you think a clot will kill you? Has someone close to you died from a clot?

As for your mums friend, just because it happened to her doesn't mean it will happen to you. At the same time I understand how this news has shook you up, it's happened to me a lot. Did your mums friend have any symptoms prior to having collapsed? E.G swelling in her leg... Was she on a long flight or had an operation?

I am not sure why I worry about it so much Ella Jayne. My dad had a DVT years ago. I had a baby 7 months ago and was worried about that the whole time. After I had my baby another lady died from a PE after childbirth (not someone I knew directly) so I guess its always on the back of my mind.

You know what this horrible HA is like - pathetic and sometimes unexplainable.

Thanks for replying though xxx
