Diazepam in heat? Storage

Hi I had some Diazepam stored in a window sill in a box - wondering if the heat is bad for it... can it effect it/shorten its life/go off etc?

Also, once it's open, how long does it last out of the wrapper? I've got a half that's been sat out of the packet for a few weeks.
