Hi there,
I'm off to see the doctor on Monday as I think that I've started to suffer from GAD: constant feeling of worry, unable to relax, waking v early in the morning with panicky feelings.
The last 18 months have been super-stressul: my husband was diagnosed with a terminal cancer...then made a miraculous recovery, then I was made redundant, then got another job and was sacked for investigating a whistleblowinbg complaint, then had to put our adoption plans on hold because they won't allow us to adopt because my husband had cancer...it's all been too much. Even though the major stress sources have gone, I can't seem to stop worrying. It's as though my brain has got stuck in worry mode, if that makes any sense to you experts!
I cut out caffeine a few weeks ago and was better for about a week - then the symptoms came back. Luckily I'm covered by my husband's private medical insurance.
In case the doctor does diagnose GAD, could anyone recommend a therapist specialising in anxiety in the Manchester area, who takes private patients?
Many thanks for the help.
I'm so glad I found this forum - I felt so alone for such a long time.
xx
