Citalopram affect Menstral cycle?

I have been on 20mg of Citalopram for 2 months now and am feeling so much better and calm now they have made such a difference. Does anyone know if they affect your periods as am usually quite regular and it's now delayed just wondering if its the Citalopram also have started coming out in spots has anyone else had either of these problems?

no it doesnt affect your period i was on them for a number of years

Antidepressants can yes. I am on Cit but also Amitriptyline and the Ami has definately messed up my periods. The BNF states that it can affect hormones so yes, cit can affect hormones and hence periods. :) x

Thanks for that just gonna wait and see what happens and if that is the only side affect from taking them then i'm happy as I just feel so much better on these and not having any anxiety at all for the first time in a year :)xx
