Can I still take valerian?

It's my first day on sertraline... and I feel absolutely terrible already, side effects hit me like a bus about two hours after the tablet. My question is, I've relied of valerian tablets to get me to sleep for months now. Is it still safe to take them? I forgot to ask my doctor, and I'd google, but we all know google isn't the place to go for medical advice. :whistles:

My doc said it's alright to take lorazepam (a benzodiazepine) with zoloft if I can't sleep (I haven't started taking the meds yet). Since valerian is all natural, I don't see the harm in combining them however please don't take my word for it. If you can, you should call your doctor or your local pharmacy.
