Hi all,
Mum has been diagnosed with Parkinsons.
I have ended up back home with them and for a while we thought she was deteriorating but were unsure if it was age.
She is 70 and for a while was not using her right arm much and I think in a way we were are glad of a diagnosis.
A specialist nurse is coming to visit next week with leaflets and she has started on some medication so the care seems far better than the sort we often hear about here.
I am aware there is a UK website but i havent got into any detail yet it is going to take a while to absorb.
Just wanted to let some of it out. Hugs really or is anyone on the same path.
Im so emotionally numb I havent been able to cry for 20 years.
I think I have forgotten how although I can well up in a film (weird).
She seems to be dealing with it o.k. so far.
Thanks.
Simon.

Simon hi so sorry to hear about your mums diagnosis just today i have found out my brother who is 70 has also been diagnosed with parkinsons , he is not well at the moment and the family are struggling to cope so he will be going into a nursing home tomorrow for some respite care for 1 week to allow the family to catch up on some much needed rest .

We are aimimg to find out as much as we can about the illness so that we can help when and if needed .

Hope things sort out for you and your mum
Take Care Maggie

Thanks Maggie,
You dont want others to suffer but it really helps to know that you are not the only ones.
Yes early days and information is king.
I would like to send your family some support too.
Thank you.
Simon.
