i went to doctor the other day about 'lump' on neck and was embarrassed to say i was just checking my neck so i said i felt discomfort on neck and was checking then found lump.

he checked my neck and said there is nothing there it must have been a lymph node due to hayfever and i felt kind of ok with that.

now i am worrying that because i said i had discomfort when i didn't he has diagnosed me wrong!

so i still fretting like mad!

how would you rationalise this??

Hi Randomworry,
please don't worry! I promise you that he would have asked you more questions if he thought something was wrong. The thing is that doctors know that patients omit things and lie to them all the time! Trust me I lived with a doctor for many years!! The sad thing about health anxiety is that we are terrified of hearing a bad diagnosis and yet when we hear a good one we don't want to believe it!
Try and forget about it although if you're anything like me you'll be onto the next sympton! What a disorder we have!
