Since nearly passing out whilst driving a few years ago. I am now terrified of being in a car, even as a passenger, dizzy, edgy, panicky, to the point where I cannot go on motorways, only short trips. Its also become a problem on the train.

Anyone else experience this?

I have totally experienced this- not on a train but in a motor. It is horrible.
I was so bad that I had to sit in the back of a vehicle so I couldn't see the traffic in the front.

I overcame this and now I AM DRIVING everywhere !

It was beatable for me- hard to believe since I would stress so much days prior to having to get into a motor and for days after getting out of one.

What I did to try and overcome my extreme fear of cars was to gradually expose more and more to the car. At first I would just sit in the car (while it was parked in my driveway) with the door open and my feet on the ground. I could stand this for about 5 minutes. I did this constantly until I could sit in the car with the door closed. I would read a book or do something just to sit in the parked car. I eventually could read a book in the back seat and then I just kept keeping my exposure, turning the car on and listening to music (while still in park).

It sounds silly but it worked for me- eventually.

Good luck Hun !

I hate public transport, like buses, am actually learning to drive so that I can avoid taking buses to work, although going out for 2 hours with driving instructor gives me panic attacks too!
