I don't listen to music to lift my spirits but to calm my nerves and get me to focus on something besides the anxiety. I love Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell. It's just something in the tone of their voices when they sing that makes the days troubles wash away.

Music is great...has anyone who suffers from a phobia ever tried listening to it when they have to face their fear? It sometimes helps me when i go out (listening to an ipod or cd player, anything), to take my mind of things slightly. Especially if the song has inspriational lyrics...
