Hi sorry if this introduction seems odd but I’m having a panic attack right now
Or leading up to one
I’m 25 male living in islington London and have suffered from Anxiety/panic
Since I was in my late teens ..it went away for a while but in the last two
Days I’ve been panicked for most of the day which is new to me because
I normally only have panic attacks when I’m sleeping
I’ve gotten to the stage where I don’t leave the house for days on end

Thanks for the reply nice to know that I’m not the only one suffering
If that doesn’t sound to strange #61514;

As to your question in the past I’ve only had panic attacks that have woken me up
So I would be sleeping and then wake up in the middle of a panic attack
But it seems to have changed in the last 2days

I’ve been hiding my self away form the world for the last 2years
Maybe leaving the house once a week if that and gaining weight
And I think its hitting me that I’m wasting my life
Time is running out

Hi Steve

First of all welcome to this site and yes I know what you mean by having a panic attack during the night. I frequently woke up with a panic attack - it is awful. I have had GAD, panic attacks and agoraphobia for 8 years to the extent I didnt leave the house for 3 years. I am a lot better now and live a relatively good life. As long as I keep the stress levels down, try to eat healthily (or attempt to !!) , get plenty sleep and try to keep my inner chatterbox under control then I am OK.

Take care

I’ve been back and forward to doctors since I was a teen
But I’ve let it over come me
But I’m going to turn over a new leaf and do what ever I have to
To turn my life around

Its hard to be young and watch what feels like your life passing you by

I'm so going to try and change my eatting habits because when i have an attack
I keep thinking its a heart attack

Good thinking steve!!! do you suffer from depression?? sounded a bit sorry for yourself!! dont, your still young and with your new attitude theres nothing to stop you turning your life round!!! and what helps me when I am having a down day is thinking of how many people who are worse of than me!! I feel sorry for meself at least once a week- thinking- i couldnt go to college, couldnt go out, never had a job- but then i at least ive improved- theres always someone worse of than you!! sorry if this sounds harsh at all but thats wot I tell meself when i am having a bad day!!!

Hi Steve, welcome to the site. I have panic attacks in my sleep, which have woken me up. I had one at 4.30am early hours of Sunday morning after no panic attacks for about 2/3 months. Feeling a bit better now, just took diazepam to get me back to my anxious state rather than panicky state. I've noticed that people keep asking if anything significant has happened to bring on panic attacks but I can honestly say in my own experience, that mine come on for nothing. I can be having the time of my life & get a panic attack smack bang in the middle of it. Have a good read of the topics on this site & you will meet lots of people with the same symptoms as yourself. Very reassuring.
