has anyone ever felt like this while on their period?

i don't know if its because im losing alot of blood due to heavy period....

My panic attacks have been linked to my menstrual cycle and put down to a hormone inbalance. I could tell you when my period was going to start as the day before the panic was hellish. I am now going through the menopause and they are kicking off really badly again. Like you my periods were really heavy so you feel like death anyway without the added anxiety making things worse. I understand totally where you are coming from. Hang on in there.

Thanks for your reply, it really has helped to hear other peoples stories etc.... i can also tell when im on my anxiety hits the roof about a day before or sometimes a week before... i go into the mode of not feeling like myself its horrible.... did you ever go to the doctors about it?

Yes my doc (a male) said it was my imagination but the practice nurse told me to keep a diary which I did we then presented him with it and he had to admit he was wrong. I was sent to a specialist who ran blood tests at different times of the month and it showed that my hormones were spiking out of control. I was put on HRT at the age of 35 to try and balance things out. Unfortunately it didn't agree with me and I was sick daily. I was advised that it would get better and to stick with it and it could take up to a year. I held on to a year to the day and said enough was enough. Instead of not going out cos I was scared to go out I couldn't go out as I was constantly hanging on to the toilet. Try keeping a diary and take it to your doctor this all happened to me 15yrs ago so they maybe have a better insight into it now. Good luck.

Something that comes to mind is that you might be iron deficient due to your period. Do the multi vitamins you take contain iron?

Just try and increase your iron intake the week before your next period and see if it helps you.
I think Im iron deficient and just got my period which has left me feeling lethergic and crappy. Im off to the docs on tues :)

You deffinately should go to the doctors.
Are you taking any contraceptives?? They helped to reduce my heavy periods.

Over weight for all contraceptives or just the pill??
It probably is Iron levels due to the heaviness. Contraceptives would deffinately help if you could go on them.
Good luck :yesyes:

I had the same problems, one week before period anxiety would be through the roof. I have found natural progesterone cream to be of great benefit. It cleared up all the weak feeling, sick, cramps etc. I did go off it at one stage and ovulation pain started getting bad so back on it again and its all cleared up. I can now "go out and about" on my period days. Before I would be stuck at home in pain and fear.
Also found magnesium oil to be great help for general tiredness and anxiety. Do read up on it and make your own decisions about both.
