Banged head..

tonight i was picking something off the floor and the cupboard was open....
I hit my head pretty hard getting up on the corner of the cupboard...
and now im really worried.. i didnt pass out... or anything i feel abit light headed but i have been feeling like that for the last week due to period...

i don't know if i should go to er....
my boyfriend says no... as everyone hits their head once and a while


but im so worried!

I've hit my head a lot (I'm very tall... and clumsy) and have been fine, including the cupboard corner several times, I can count at least 7 very hard bumps. Don't worry. The head can take quite a bump.

We typically become concerned when a patient with a closed head injury loses consciousness and 24 hour observation is not uncommon. From your description, this doesn't appear to be an injury sufficient enough to cause a subsequent problem.

You simply need to monitor your progress and if you notice any changes, then contact your local primary care physician. You'll likely have a tender area at the sight of injury for as much as a week to ten days. Other than that, you'll be fine.
