Hi ashley

Yes i have had a few of those that you have on your list.

You sound like a strong person who is working through it & you will do.

Well I have certainly had quite a few from that list and could probably add irritable bowel and idigestion to it too.

"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.

I totally relate to your list, and to what you said, if only I could take my own advice.

Take care

Bl*ody hell Ash, I've had most of them. Isn't it ironic that we could all probably list at least 50% of those symptoms. My list gets longer because I think i'm reaching a mid-life crisis, 5 years ago I wouldn't have had any of those symptoms, but now I have them all & its all health anxiety with me probably due to my lifestyle. I don't look after myself, I need to get rid of stress before I can give up smoking & drinking & start eating healthily. I do get real symptoms, & have for the past 12 months, but I convince myself its more than panic & anxiety. I should know better by now, but each time I get a pain in my chest, it feels different from the pain I got the last time, or it has moved slightly. Do you understand what I mean? I should make a list like that & see if I can reduce it by thinking rationally. Thanks for that.

HI

I am going to add something that people might not agree with.

Why write out this list - by doing this we are only reinforcing the fact we have these symptoms and by constantly reminding ourselves of these awful sensations, we will never let them go. By accepting them and letting them dissolve and by not adding to the fear we can begin to put anxiety behind us. Yes it has taken me 9 years to believe this, but if we live and breathe anxiety on a daily basis, it takes over our lives and we are then engulfed by our own fear. We can overcome this by changing the way we think about things, CBT was my life saver, that and a good support system by the psychiatric team.
