so glad ive found this site with other people suffering with same problems as myself have felt very alone through past months as havent met or spoke to any one with similiar problems. have been suffering with panic disorder and agroaphobia for eleven months now, have seen a therapist and tried hynotherapy to solve the reason why i was having these attacks which actually made my anxiety a lot worse. would not recommend hpynotherapy to anyone! before my first attack id no idea what a panic attack was and wasnt stressed out or anxious about anything at the time. we couldnt find a reason for the attacks so my anxiety has now got worse. i avoid going out as much as possible, will not go into a shopping centre, supermarket or anywhere where theres a lot of people. constantly feel that if i go out im just going to faint anyone else feel this? doctors have prescribed me 3 different types of anti depressant none of which have worked for me, currently on leforapramine. have also tried beta blockers and diazepam which made me very ill. waiting on getting a date for group therapy for others with panic disorders which im hoping will finally help me recover from this, dont no what else to do! i feel so drained from all the emotions that come and go with the attacks, and most days feel that this will be me for the rest of my life.
if any one could give any advice would be appreciated! x

:welcome:RJMX.There is a brilliant book by Dr Claire Weekes;SELF HELP FOR YOUR NERVES published by Thorsens ISBN 0-7225-3155-9.This is available from the NMP shop. Dr Weekes was a physician and scientist. She was a fellow sufferer (nominated for the nobel prize for medicine) and really understood this illness. She took the mystery out of it, and devised a simple programme for recovery. I can't recommend this enough.( It is a bit old fashioned, but still so relevant).
Here is a link to her site;

Another book which has really helped me is;

Matthieu Ricard ' Happiness...a guide to developing life's most important skill ' published by Atlantic ISBN 978-1-84354-558-3.He is a French Buddhist monk and a very accomplished man....here is a link to one of his talks.....

This will get better. Veronicax
