hi does anyone know if pepto bimol can cause dark mucus in stool theres only a little bit i know it causes dark stool but can it also transfer to the mucus as well sorry for grossness thankyou

Yes it can make your stools dark so don't worry. Be aware that it is contraindicated with other meds such as lithium (which I am on) Check with your GP that it does not interfere with any other meds you are taking. If you have mucus in your poo you should see your GP anyway.

Well as it makes stools dark, it makes sense that it also makes mucus dark I would imagine. But I don't know for sure. It turned my tongue black once!

thanks i also have ibs and mucus is a symptom but the mucus has only been dark since taking pepto bismol
