Upping the Citalopram dose

Hi there - I need some advice from all you experts.
I have been on Cit for 4 weeks now and am being increased to 20mgs.
I have a few questions
- Are the side effects as bad as they were at the start?
- Would I be better to go to 15mg first?
- How quickly will 20mgs work - Is it a further 4-6 weeks wait or should it kick in more quickly?
