Hello there everyone,my name is jane,im 35 years old,im origanally from middlesbrough,now living in sussex,with me partner.
i suffer from social anxiety,and have been like this for a about a year,its not as bad as it used to be.but i still find it hard to be in a crowd,or in a supermarket.

Hi Jane

Welcome to the forum. I suffer from social phobia too and have been making progress with this since joining this forum. As has been mentioned, slowly and gently pushing at the boundaries of your comfort zone will help you on the road to recovery.

I have gone from not speaking or seeing anyone, to being able to finally use the phone and have made some great friends here, some of whom I met up with several times last year. There is hope of feeling more comfortable in these situations.

You will find a lot of help and support here.

Welcome to NMP ! Glad to see another person from Sussex! I understand completely where you are coming from regarding Supermarkets and crowds!


The consilation is that for many on here they have had the same and have overcome it with support and help and even councelling so there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
