Hi there, I am a 62yr young female and have been taking citalopram 20mg for three years now and am doing very well on it. Is there any reason why I can't stay on it indefinitely? My family don't want me to go off in case I return to my negative state and I must admit life has never been better since taking it.

Tks. Val

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii val,

i would probably check with your gp...my friend has been on cits for 12 years 20mg and you know wot.....she has noticed that if she misses a couple of days anxiety creeps back...wot she says is why stop popping one pill a day if it makes the world seem a better place....and you know wot i know where she is coming from.

but as i said....check with your gp my love xxxx

all the best, tracey xxxxx

Some DRS let you stay on it .Theres no reason to come off it if it helps .Were you put on it for Anxiety or Depression may I ask ? and what other means have you tried to help with the problems you have .? Ie CBT & or councelling .Sue x
