If you feel like you cant breathe then that would cause anyone to panic! Hopefully you can get to the route of your sinus probs and maybe that will ease the panics.

I think its normal to get a bit panicky when you cant breathe through youe nose (I know I do) and sleeping like it, is a nightmare. I always have to go and get the olbas oil bottle and just breathe it in.
Your nose will clear in time. Just keep breathing through it the best you can x x x

My nose is exactly the same at the moment. Blocked, with pressure pain, headaches, sore eyes, all from my sinuses. I've had an examination and my GP suspects polyps, I have an appointment with an ENT specialist in 8 days (2 months waiting). In the mean time I was prescribed avamys nasal spray, it worked miracles and although it doesnt fix the problem it makes it more bareable, its a steroid though so it does have its draaw backs but I think the benefit in my case far out weighs any side effects (I've not had any that I have noticed).

When any airway is blocked it is not a nice feeling and also has the ability to cause adrenaline surges bringing on panic, just hang in there and I'll keep you posted with what the ENT specialist says to me.

thanks rob, i have had surgery before on my sinuses, the doctor looked up my nose, said he couldnt see polyps but one side is very narrow, its not like a cold blocked up feeling, its like its very dry but mucos goes down back of throat, i often wake up choking too. it also feels like where throat and nose meet feels swollen, is that your adanoids? just hope its not panicks!!

Its sounds like its not panic creating the symptoms but the other way round. I am actually hoping for surgery to just get this annoyance away. I get that horrible choking feeling too, its not very nice and it catches you when you least expect it. Fingers crossed your ENT exam will identify what is the issues and sort it out.
