Beyond scared

I am due to have breast screening this week - a mammo and a breastscan as these two together are 98% effective at picking up breast cancer. I know anyone having breast screening feels a little worried in case but I am terrified - I feel so monumentaly depressed and tearful and feeling of terrible dread- I just don't know how I am going to manage to stay sane waiting for the results which take 3-5 days after tests.

I think it's only natural that you are scared - we'd all be. I was asked to return for a repeat mammo and scan and my imagination ran away with me. I had cysts which were aspirated there and then and I'd imagined it to be allsorts! I always think we need to remember that it almost always NEVER what we fear the most!
