this is what happed but bear in mind i have been really stressed, not eating very much, big time depressed.

the telephone was ringing then when it stopped i could 'hear' it still ringing in my head for a bit afterwards has this ever happend to anyone!!

Happens to me all the time! My mind just keeps hearing things over after they've finished. Nothing at all to worry about :) Like Paula said, it's just to do with heightened senses, and our senses are VERY over-active with anxiety so it's much more likely to happen in us!
