Diazepam making my tounge numb?

I use to take it for years, now trying it again. My tounge and mouth go all numb, which then makes me panic that I am having an allergic reaction, is this normal? should I worry?

Hi nice to meet you...I took valium for years, and it does make your tongue and mouth a bit numb. Can I suggest making sure you put it at the back of the throat and swallow it quickly, ie-dont leave it in your mouth while looking for a drink or whatever. Hope that helps..:)
