Hi everyone, haven't been on here for a while as I've been feeling a lot better recently but this last week I've started to feel my anxiety slowly creeping back and it's beginning to affect my day to day activities again.

I have serious issues with health anxiety. Recently I went to the doctor's as I was getting pains in the left side of my chest which also went down my arm. He passed it off as nothing but since I saw him the pain has been getting worse, mainly down my arm which is now pretty much in constant pain and if the pain subsides it's only to a dull ache. Combined with this I get chest pains on and off too and, being an anxious person, I've started to worry something is wrong with me again, especially heart problems or, i know it sounds stupid, but cancer or something.

Every time I pick myself up I seem to fall back down again.

And how am I supposed to tell the difference between symptoms caused by anxiety and a genuine health problem? One day I might pass something off as anxiety which may actually be for real.

I'm only 21 and I just can't seem to fully enjoy my uni experience as my anxiety and stress is always with me.

Hi

I also suffer with health anxiety and had an attack in the night, was sure I was going to pass out or die due to what I thought this time was a stroke
I managed to convince myself that these symptoms were linked to my anxiety and stopped myself from dashing of to A&E yet again,

It is so difficult but please belive you are not alone and things will get better, we just have to recognise these symptoms and believe they wil do us no harm,

Take Care

bex you say you got better, how did you do this. did you read the claire weekes book and follow her guidelines on accepting these pains, and even these setbacks as essential in the road to recovery. if you got better but lived in fear of the symptoms returning then this fear alone is enough to bring on their return. have you read her books, you can order them from the site above

ps i have had a pai n in my left arm for 4 years and in my chest

you are not alone i fear this every day, but i trule believe that claire weekes has recovery down to a tee, if only her rules could be followed
