as if im not goin threw enough i have pnd anxiety and bad panick attacks im lyin in bed and im havin full blown panick attack im relaxed nothin is on my mind im shakin gaspin for breath why??

Panic has no real rhyme or reason and can come on out of the blue. What counts is our ability to deal with how our mind and body reacts to a panic. We all know the more we think about it the worse our attack seems to get but it can be very difficult not to think about it during an attack, but this is the only time that we can truly confront an attack.

Yet there are a few things we can do so that we can begin to cope a little better.
Every one of us knows what its like to have a panic attack and most of us have ways of dealing with them but all these ideas seem to go out the window when in an attack and we run around like headless chickens. Our focus has to be on keeping these ideas during an attack and calming ourselves down so it does not grow.

1. Always remember an attack cant hurt you...its uncomfortable but it wont hurt
2. In reality an attack does not last that long, sure it seems like it but it peaks very quickly and then comes down
3. Practise breathing everyday and have a calming word that you can repeat during times of stress, you are starting to re-train your mind here
4. Distraction is a wonderful tool........work at it
5. Remember you have been here before and you came out the other side
6. Dont scream at the attack or hate yourself for being this way but rather tell yourself that you will one day get better
7. Calmness confidence courage control the four Cs
