my name is maxine and have suffered with panic attacks for 10 years. This past week I have absorbed information off the net about them and am now determined for them not to control my life any longer! Any body got any words of wisdom for me?

words of wisdom? you have just wisely gave them to your self. you are determined not to let them take over your live any longer. keep this in your head but do not punish yourself as this is a long road to be taken slowly and done right. no pressure to be better by a certain time
the site above is a reading list. i reccomend claire weekes books. if you have already heard of them tell me to shut up because i rave about these books to everyone. if you have not , pick yourself a copy of this book and keep it as you would a bible( if you are religous that is)
also have you ever had cbt, this is a therapy that many on this site rave about.
also no that you are not alone, we are all in this together, so lean on us whenever times are good or bad

Hi Maxine,
Welcome to the forum and I’m sure you will find lots of help here and with your determination I’m sure you will succeed. Panic attacks can be control through many methods and you may need to try a few different things but I’m sure you will find the correct option for you.
