I've had a really bad cough this last week - and went to see doctor this morning. She checked my chest and says it sounds clear however I told her I was coughing up blood stained stuff and so she said in accordance with guidelines I'll have to get a chest x ray. I haven't had one of these since I was four - and when I got the last one I screamed the whole time. Naturally I'm not so worried now but what does it entail when you get your chest done? I've had other x rays before but again not for years...

I hope it will come back OK too, she said there's nothing wrong but I have to get it done anyway :S

You sit on the trolley and lean up against the x-ray board/plate thing and hold on to it/around it and that's it.

You will need to remove all metal so if you have an underwired bra they may ask you to take it off - you get a gown to change into.

It takes seconds to do and doesn't hurt at all.

Had one last week, Just had to remove all top clothing, put a gown on and stand against a board.
Click and it was over, all of 5 minutes.
You will be fine babe xxxx
