View Full Version : New and terribly afraid of losing control

Hi everyone,

I'm so glad I've found this site. I am suffering from almost constant panic attacks with breathers inbetween.

I suffer with post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression. I was taking big doses of diazepam and weaned off a fortnight ago. I guess a lot of this is withdrawal symptoms but I've always been very prone to anxiety hence the diazepam.

I am on cipralex (escitalopram) 20mg and olanzapine 20mg. I'm tortured by awful fears that I'm going to lose control and lash out at strangers and loved ones. I live on my own and have banned anyone from visiting as I'm so scared that I will lose control. I am under the care of the community mental health team currently.

Has anyone had similar fears/experiences?

Please tell me it gets better!

All the best,

Poppy
