Cant swallow

Does anyone else get this feeling that they can't swallow, like a sort of panic attack? It is really weird and i feel like i cannot control it and i panic for a few seconds until i can swallow... it is happening to me more now and it is getting really scary.

someone posted something that said that this happens because when we are anxious we hold our tongues at the roof of our mouth, which causes this throat tightness. so check ur tongue position :)
i used to suffer with this LOADS until i read that info on here, and now i hardly ever suffer with it. if u know it's down to panic and anxiety and u acknowledge that, i promise u it will stop. xxxx

Yes, I get this too. Sometimes when I'm eating also. Scares me, feels like I forgot how to swollow and my throat gets all tight. Never knew it was from anxiety, thought it was just a glitch with me or something lol. Not fun at all.

I get this all the time, its like you go to swallow and you cant and then you start panicking cos you cant swallow and your heart starts pounding and then u can eventually swallow but by this time your in a bit of a panic - horrible isnt it, i get it too so your not alone

Yeah I get this too and it's one of the first signs of my anxiety increasing for me. Of course I get panicky because of it so the attack gets worse then :( Thankfull it is a common symptom of panic attacks.
