Eggy

Anyone else had these problems? They are making my life hell, They include:-

Feeling like my face is aching/A feeling of pressure in my cheekbones and jaws and head but mainly under my eyes, It feels like i am going to struggle to open my mouth or talk, It just feels like sometime soon i will start slurring or being unable to talk as even talking lately feels tiring.

Ache/Pressure next to the ears constantly.

When i eat my cheekbones ache more and they feel as though they are pushing down on my mouth.

Feel like chewing food is a big problem like something isn't working properly and feels tiring and very hard work.

Swallowing doesn't feel right and i feel like i choke on everything even liquids.

Constant dizziness/light-headedness and feeling unsteady on my feet.

I just wondered if anyone had experiences this and how long for?

She's right Eggy,
have you actually tried taking your mind off things? Going for a walk and admiring the scenery? Trying to think of anything but how you're feeling?
Maybe if you didn't think about it you wouldn't notice it, it takes time, could even take a few days of you calming and not thinking about it for it to calm!

Eggy,

I really feel for you this time last year I was where you are now. I spent hours/days up at a&e worrying I was having a heart attack I had test after test all came back fine but I still pestered the staff for more tests. I sat on this forum just like you do begging for reassurance so trust me I know how bad your feeling. It wasn't till I went onto citalopram that I felt better and truly believed it was anxiety (which it is hun) you are fine you have had the all clear. Hun I know its hard my anxiety is back big time (yep scared about a heart attack again) and do you know why? Because I came off my meds. Yep my meds for anxiety! Please accept its anxiety and you will feel loads better. Hmm now I'm wondering why I can't take my own advice?

Actually if you read my other posts i have an Abnormal Blood Test result which i got yesterday so i wasn' too impressed with what you just said!

People who have seen me lately say that Anxiety probably isn't causing my problems with face/mouth/throat weakness.

Actually I DID read that you have had an abnormal result and that your gp wants to see you...I also know youve have elevated white cell count....I UNDERSTAND this has made you doubly anxious and I sympathise. It must be HELL being trapped by this vicious illness 24/7
However...MY POINT IS IF YOU CARE TO READ MY POST AGAIN!!..WHY ARE YOU CONTINUALLY READING THINGS ON THE SYMPTOMS THREAD WHEN YOU KNOW IT MAKES YOU WORSE!!!!

I don't continually read things on the Symptoms thread, I was on the Symptoms section to post this thread, I leave myself logged in on here so sometimes it might look like i am in one part of the forum for a long time when i'm actually not and i could be away from the computer and doing other things.

Eggy you seem to ask for peoples advice and input then don't like what they say. You are posting the same symptoms over and over again and getting the same replys now I understand why your not taking it in and thatsa because to me it seems like you are suffering from health anxiety. Now I stuck up for you on a previous post when I felt like people were ganging up on you and been a little mean. My point is please don't be rude we all understand how bad your feeling but if you are going to post and ask for peoples opinions don't get all offended by there replys. On the subject of your post just because you have abnormal bloods doesn't mean its got anything to do with your throat:face and jaw problems. try not to worry until you see the doc and maybe if its nothing to do with your symptoms then you should try accept youy suffer from anxiety. By the way are you on any meds for anxiety?

Did you know that an elevated white blood count can also be caused by STRESS ??? There you go .Eggy .You have been extremely stressed worrying about your health havnt you ?

Morning Eggy..first. Im sorry I came across as harsh, I didnt mean to upset you.
Im just concerned that, as Sammi said, you really need to face up to your HA issues, or you will be trapped in this vicious circle forever.
I really want to know if youve done anything suggested by people on here, knowledge is power, you HAVE the strength to beat this.
As Nicola says- who told you this facial weakness isnt anxiety?
Have you read the fantastic updated download on here on HA?
Have you put into practice any relaxation techniques?
Have you read any self-help books such as Dr Clare Weekes?
Have you begun to reply to others posts in order to help them?
Have you wondered why you are taking anti-anx medication when you are convinced you dont have anxiety?
Have you considered that a majority of people with anxiety have the same symptoms as you describe?
Have you learnt correct breathing techniques which help anxiety?
Have you considered asking your gp for a mental health referal?
Have you wondered that seeing CBT has helped so many people, it might be something you could try?
Have you understood how HA affects our concious mind?
Have you realised people are trying to help you here, and sometimes molly coddling isnt the best way?
Have you stepped out of your comfort zone and pushed yourself to get better?
Have you stopped googling and looking at statistics?
Have you realised that unless you start doing some of the above YOU WONT GET BETTER!

Whatever the results of your bloods, YOU WILL DEAL WITH IT! In the meantime, you will be helping yourself enormously by taking steps to face your HA. Then you can begin recovery, and get well. :hugs:

I really want to know if youve done anything suggested by people on here, knowledge is power, you HAVE the strength to beat this.
As Nicola says- who told you this facial weakness isnt anxiety? A couple of friends did.
Have you read the fantastic updated download on here on HA? Not yet.
Have you put into practice any relaxation techniques? No
Have you read any self-help books such as Dr Clare Weekes? I've ordered one.
Have you begun to reply to others posts in order to help them? Yes
Have you wondered why you are taking anti-anx medication when you are convinced you dont have anxiety? No GP has ever turned round to me and said you have anxiety i was just put on medication without an explanation.
Have you considered that a majority of people with anxiety have the same symptoms as you describe? Possible, Although some of my recent ones are quite severe and are seriously damaging my life and just don't seem like anxiety symptoms.
Have you learnt correct breathing techniques which help anxiety? Yes
Have you considered asking your gp for a mental health referal? Not yet
Have you wondered that seeing CBT has helped so many people, it might be something you could try? Maybe in the future.
Have you understood how HA affects our concious mind? Yes & No
Have you realised people are trying to help you here, and sometimes molly coddling isnt the best way? I know people are trying to help.
Have you stepped out of your comfort zone and pushed yourself to get better? It depends if all my symptoms are anxiety related.
Have you stopped googling and looking at statistics? Stopping Googling is very hard.

:hugs:

Eggy Im SO HAPPY youve ordered the clare weekes book!:D
I wouldnt listen to your friends saying its not anxiety unless they are medically trained professionals. Listen to your doctors only. x
I know its hard to stopp googling, but you can do it! :)
What time do you get your blood results?

Eggy, ive read your very first post and you said in it that that docs had referred you to a chronic fatigue consultant, have you considered that this could be your problem because it can give all the symptoms that you discribed in your first post and it can make you feel very anxious, which can bring on all these other symptoms.

Hi Eggy,

Well done :yesyes:
Despite what some people have suggested, there’s a lot of positives in that list of answers to Paula’s questions.

“Have you wondered why you are taking anti-anx medication when you are convinced you dont have anxiety?
No GP has ever turned round to me and said you have anxiety i was just put on medication without an explanation.”

Unfortunately some GPs aren’t very communicative, which isn’t very reassuring when a person has health anxiety. But just because he didn’t say as much doesn’t mean there isn’t a good reason why he prescribed anti-anxiety medication. I’m sure they don’t just pick one out of a hat!

“Have you stopped googling and looking at statistics?
Stopping Googling is very hard.”

Sometimes it is a step too far to just stop, and an easier first step is to simply put it off for a while. It sounds more reassuring to think; “I won’t Google now, but I will in 10 minutes if I still feel I need to.” Perhaps the urge will pass, and if not... well, next time see if you can go 20 minutes... then 30...

Keep up the progress :)
Nigel

Hello Baileys,

My GP wanted to refer me to a Chronic Fatigue Specialist to rule out Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I agreed to be referred and have been referred but could be waiting a while.

Eggy, have you ever thought that your head symptoms could be caused by TMJ disorder, i dont know if anybody has said this before.
I have this which causes a huge range of symptoms. I get ear ache, headaches, my cheeks feel swollen, i find it hard to chew, neck pain, constant lightheadedness and loads more.
This is all because im tense, not that i feel tense most of the time now. The TMJoint doesnt like being tense all the time.
Read up on tmj and see if it makes any sence to you.

Your right Katie they are really horrible and it's not nice at all, I feel for anyone who has to have those symptoms, The problem with me is i'm thinking something really bad is wrong with me like a fatal muscle wasting disease or some other killer disease which doesn't help i admit but it's hard to tell what's what and what is causing what, But yes i do feel trapped sometimes. :bighug1:

Hello Sue & Thanks, I still feel really crap.

I went to the doctors today but wasn't given an explanation for my symptoms especially my mouth/throat/facial problems but they did keep my list of symptoms that i had done, They were more interested in my worries of Motor Neurone Disease.
