Hi

Does anyone suddenly have a thought that 'Oh my God I don't feel right - there is something wrong with me'? I stop what I am doing and have this thought - is it all in my head and just a thought?

Hi Michelle,

That is all part of the anxiety, and it is definatley just a thought, and remember thoughts wont hurt you.

Take care

Hi Michelle, this happens to me a few times a day. Its really scary at the time, & sometimes lasts for quite a while for no known reason. I put it down to anxiety because after a load of tests, some repeated, there is nothing physically wrong with me, although it doesn't feel like it when this happens. Try not to stop what you're doing. I find that the more I busy myself or try & think of something positive, then the sooner it goes away. If you are worried about it, go see your doctor for some advice & share the problem.

You'll get lots of replies & reassurance, & realise that its more common than you think.

Ditto!! It really helps me seeing others go through the same thing - I don't mean that in a horrible way but it almost helps me accept that this is nothing nasty or physical, just horrible old anxiety!!!!.

I often have those thoughts too and try to distract myself or think positive like Les. My CB therapist said I had to just accept the feelings and thoughts, the more you try to push them away and ignore them, the worse they get.

This is what causes many panics.

Instead, you need to think through logically and rationally what your are feeling and experiencing and stop jumping to the worst case scaraio conclusions.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.
