Anyone else have this?

It seems to come in waves and the only way I can describe it is an intense feeling of nerves in hip and pelvic area.

Anxious :(

It sort of feels like that but its only in that sort of area. Ive had upper and lower back pain as well - possibly nerve issue?

Tension in the back muscles causes it ..Heat and relaxation ,maybe an Ibruprofen if its bad ,Its caused by anxiety as well . Unless you have arthritis .Which I doubt at your age lol ..Sue x

I just dont understand how tense muscles can cause that :( The doctor referred me to a neurologist as one day I lost hte feeling in my right leg. It also feels like something is pulling in the pelvis area, been like that for a couple of months now.

We cannot diagnose every illness under the sun here - we are laymen not doctors.

NMP is not a medical site so all we can advise is that you see your GP and take his advice. All we can do is say "well I had that pain and it was this ....".

Other than that then you cannot expect members to diagnose on here.

Piers,

I agree with Nicola in that we cannot tell you what is wrong with you, only share our experiences with you, but just to say that there are nerves feeding every muscle in our body and sometimes when those muscles are really tense through anxiety or even through exercise, they can spasm and jerk, flutter and twitch. The feeling you describe is much like the feeling we can have in any muscle, the most common being the muscles around the lips and eyes...most of us have experienced eyelid or lip twitches, and I often get a pulse-like twitching in the right side of my neck. Its also interesting to note that people who have palpitations connected to anxiety problems can experience a fluttering feeling in the heartbeat, and the heart is a muscle too.

My guess is that the pain in your back is more of a muscular problem than a nerve one, but as Nic says, most of us are not medically trained so only your doctor can diagnose.

Take care
Anna xx

I wasnt really looking for a diagnosis, just people who can relate. I know the right leg thing is most likely a pinched nerve or something like that, its just the pulling and intense tingle type feeling i wanted some reassurance on.

Hi Anna,

I did read your reply and it makes sense but I wouldn't call them twitches, but maybe they are - can a muscle twitch bring you to your knees with pain?

Sorry I missed that part...where do you say it brought you to your knees? I was replying to the fluttering in your hip and pelvis.

Ok well it doesn't sound like you're very sure yourself so it might be best to ask your doctor.

Severe muscle spasms can be excruciating .Sounds like I had with IBS UK .ITS CAUSED BY THE BOWEL GOING INTO SPASM .Buscopan or Colofac will ease the spasms .If it doesnt improve in a few days go to your DR .Dont take paracetamol as it will cause you to get constipated and get worse ..T/C Sue x

Don't be sad Piers, it doesn't sound like anything serious, but ask the doc anyway yes?

You are currently waiting for neuro tests arent you uk ? Back probs can be caused by many things ,and can affect nerves and surrounding tissue . No one can say for sure what is causing this .It could possibly be two things IBS and a back problem .Maybe a disc that is causing pressure on a nerve ? .Only your Dr or a specialist can say what it definately is . t/C Sue
