Sore throat

So I've got a real sore throat, difficulty swallowing or clearing the mucus out and I'm guessing it's an infection, but has anyone ever had blood in the mucus with a throat infection? There are definite traces there and I'm trying to be positive but it's freaking me out a bit. I'm thinking I've coughed and retched so much trying to clear it that I've ruptured something, my personal demon says it's the onset of throat or lung cancer. Guess which seems more believeable at the moment?:unsure:

i get blood in my mucus usually when i have a sinus infection, when my nose is very congested etc and mucus/blood has come into my throat from my nose. this may be what is happening to you if you also have a stuffy nose?

This has never happened to me when I have had flu or a chest infection. I would suggest you go to the doctor, just to put your mind at rest. I'm sure it's nothing serious though. Try to stay calm. :)
