Hi there

Has anyone else found that when they are going through anxiety or anxious periods that they lose weight? I have had lots of tests at the doctors for my stomach problems, and for other stuff, but the other day someone said to me that I looked like I had lost weight, and then today someone said the same thing! Now im constantly looking in mirror thinking if I have or not? I may have, the clothes are fitting a bit looser!

Ive been very anxious over the past few weeks, been on Propanolol and usual meds (Citalopram) and I havent noticed any change in my eating habits?

Can anyone else relate to this?

Thanks
Katie

Thanks so much - can I ask if you lost weight due to anxiety making you not eat or just because your body was working in overdrive?

I was eating ok .It was down to overdrive ,it affects your metabolism .The Cit will reverse this ...You may have to watch what you eat as you can put weight ON AFTER A WHILE .But get back to normal before you start worrying about that .lol take care Sue x

When my husband was in ICU on a vent and trachy with double pneumonia and septicaemia after a triple bypass, I lost a stone and a half in 3 months. I had to keep eating to function for the family so it was down to anxiety. In the years since I have lost weight after bereavements and when my anxiety/panic is high for more than a few weeks. Hope this reassures abit....I think it is fairly common to lose weight in this way. XX:hugs:
