Hi Katy

I understand how you feel as i get the symptoms the same as you when i am out somewhere.

I can't go out at present to the local shop (I so hate not being able to do that yet by myself) When i do go with my partner even though i know he is there with me i still get a bit panicky with feeling faint & sick.

I wish this feeling when it creeps up on me would vanish & never come back & it will in time, the more we conquer these things that make us feel afraid the more stronger we will get but it does'nt happen over night sadly.

We all have to take steps at a time day by day bit by bit we will all get to where we want to be in the end & we will be stronger for it.

I know its hard at times but keep positive.

Hi Katy, bless you, you're really struggling at the moment aren't you hun. Believe me the symptoms we all get ARE real & we aren't just saying it to make you feel better. I've booked myself in at the doctors tomoz cos I'm having some really dodgy heart pains, I've learnt to cope with the palpitations but over the past couple of days these pains have really scared me silly! I wonder if there are different terms for temporary anxiety, you know when something traumatic happens & we get panicky short-term, & then another term for people like us who suffer all the time. I can't remember the last time I didn't feel breathless. I don't mean like when you have a panic attack, my brethlessness is there all the time, right round my back & it really is scaring me. My heart keeps doing really loud beats a few times a day, which go in my throat and take my breath away. Katy, we all need help in understanding the symptoms; that's why we come on NMP, to reassure each other that we aren't alone in all this & to stop us from feeling we are going mad!!

I hate saying try not to worry, but there isn't anything else to say apart from reassurance. We've had our symptoms a long time, but if it was something more serious than anxiety, I'm sure we'd know by now.

Take it easy.

I get scared too Katy especially with the agraphobia, especially when ive had one storming day of brilliance & another day of feeling so low i do'nt know what to do with myself.
We just have to do our best to rise over it & move onto the next day (easier said than done i know) Keep positive

I'm scared too Katy & I'm 39 darlin! This is relatively new to me, suffered for 12 months now, but the symptoms are just as scary as my very first time 12 months ago.

We can all help each other just by talking like this & feeling like we're a part of something, a team if you like, rather than on our own.

Hi Katy

It makes us feel like a scared kid trust me. Suddenly we lose control of how thinking, strength and independance but we can get it back and we will help you through this hun. You are not alone and dont ever forget that.

We could let it destroy us but why give into something that crept up and didnt give us chance to defend ourselves. You are better than that trust me.

Love Sal xx
