For 4 1/2 years ive been sick... my latest diagnosis are... vertigo, m.e, agrophobic, depression and panic attacks. I rarely go out and when i do i dont go further than about a mile from my house, and i only go that far if i have my dogs with me.
I moved 7 weeks ago and my new doctor is useless, they refuse to come out to see me, they say i dont fit the criteria for a home visit.
They have just prescribed me anti depressents but my old doc told me not to take any more as i react badly to many pills... i have no idea what to do

Hi Louise and a warm welcome.

You have done the right thing by coming here - have a look at our advice and information on the main pages as well as the forums here.

There are many agoraphobic members here, and you will also find those that have made progress.

Unfortunately, doctors do not come out to agoraphobics. Our disorders are not life threatening and avoiding going out is not the cure.

If you have not already done so, ask your GP to refer you a specialist - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy often works well for agoraphobia.

Hi Louise, Welcome to the forum, you will make friends and get help here. It might seem a bit harsh to you your doctor making you go to him and not visiting but this is proberly for the best as sometimes forcing you to go out is the only way to start getting out of it. I hve been the same thinking doctors where so unfair making me visit them and not comming out to see me but when I look back it did get me out and start the ball rolling. take care, hope you feel better soon.
