I get this a lot - acid indigestion and it can really hurt.

It is not necessarily related to anxiety but can be aggrevated by spicy foods, alcohol, smoking, fruit, acidy foods etc.

Milk or peppermint helps mine but when it is really bad I take a prescription drug called Losec - that is fantastic at curing it.

You could try aloe vera as well.

My doctor told me it is acid reflux...I get it all the time. I am pregnant so that contributes to it..also, anxiety doesn't help this I am told

Hi Katy,

This sounds to me like the same symptom my daughter had, she suffered anxiety at a very early age.
When you suffer anxiety your body producers more acid, this is turn churns your tummy which producers more wind.
The wind then pushes the acid past the valve which leads to the troat,
(acid reflux)
My daughter used to get the burning sensation in her tummy, her chest and in her throat, sometimes, just in her tummy, sometimes just in her throat and always said she felt sick. She was put on gavascon which helped with the burning feeling.
Tonic water does help to get rid of the wind.

Hope this helps

TAKE CARE

LOVE JILLXX
