Hi all, I have suffered with Health Anxiety for many years, but it was brought to a head when I had a Heart Pacemaker fitted for a Heart Block 2, Type 2 on 21 October 2010.

I have had severe problems since then, culminating in 3 trips to A&E and finally my GP prescribing me with Fluoxetine 20MG about 2 weeks ago.

I have serious problems attending the surgery, my wife has to go with me as I get very anxious and light headed, and sometimes I have to go outside and have her signal to me when the Doctor calls my name. I also cannot attend any social functions as I just get too anxious, and travelling on public transport is a nightmare for me.

So I was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of people like myself being able to claim any benefits to help with my quality of life.

Thanks to you all.

regards

Mel

If you're too sick to work (and that includes mental health problems) then you can claim incapacity benefits. Your best bet is to give your local job centre a ring and ask them to post out a form.
