Hi mel, I had what they called a rigid tube put down my throat the same as you and had to be put to sleep to do it, they also took out my uvula. They put it down to reflux. Gave me capsules to reduce said and like chalk tablets to suck but nothing seemed to work. Eventually the sore throats went after about 18 months. I don’t think they knew nor did I but there seems to be lots of things happen to us people with high anxiety and we never seem to get to the bottom of it, I still get it back from time to time but now I have tried to stop these things worrying me. My best advice to anyone is, if you have had tests for something and nothing shows up is to try and not worry about it. Its easier said than done but, I am 61 and have spoiled so many years of my life with worry, and at the worst if they did find something there is nothing we can do about it. So why ruin years of life with worry. It only makes you ill. So my advice would be don’t let worry take over and ruin your life as I did and try and enjoy the life we have. Keep telling yourself you are in good health and it does work in time. Vernon

Sounds like reflux. A bland diet for a few weeks/months helps a lot

Hi Melvin, as it happens I do have a sore throat at the moment, it keeps coming and going had the tests like you have and have had it that long I gave up worrying about it. Its very common sore throat and if you have been tested I wouldn’t worry. Even nick who started NMP suffered sore throat for years (not sure if she still does). Everyone gets something some painful joints and bones, some are blind, some deaf some back pain. Very few people go through life with nothing. Even people on here have bad nerves, its sad but we all have to have something and I don’t know why. How old are you? Do you smoke or drink or eat fast foods all these can cause it. I am 61 I smoke and drink so a lot of mine is self inflicted. Take care Vernon

Hi Melvin, I really do know what you are going through I had the same about 2 years ago went for the ECG test on a treadmill, and specialist said it was ok too. I went through the same stress to as we nearly lost our son who was in the army he broke lots of bones and got bad brain injury. He was to far away for us to get to him and for about two weeks we didn’t know if he would pull through. He did pull through but now he is like a different person and obviously had to leave the army after 12 years service. I am getting these chest pains at the moment and like you do worry, I also get weak and breathless after little activity. I know what you think, the same as me test was ok before but what if it isn’t now? I think it all leads back to anxiety and when we think of it they cant really send us for a ecg every month? It does ruin our lives and the only thing really is to try and think positive more and tell ourselves we are ok. Sorry to hear about your son. All the best, Vernon
