View Full Version : what do skipped beats feel like?
im not sure if ive been having these, but its more of a feeling in my throat.
Hi hun sorry no1 replyed. I get these and it feels like my heart stops an restarts (scary) but I'm told there harmless. There hard to describe hunx
is it like an air bubble shooting up your throat with a breath taken away for a second?
Yeah hun I also get fluttering very common with anxiety/panic attacks x
Mine recently have felt like an air bubble and now I'm not sure whether they actually are pockets of air which 'tickle' my heart and make it flutter. Not sure if that us feasable?
Mine a couple of years ago were in my throat more than further down. Very scary but I've had them a few years now.
Dodo I suffer from acid reflux and am wondering if this may be causing them x
I think that's what is causing mine but the dr says it's impossible. She refuses to believe it even though they can disappear when my stomach us ok.
Thing is at the moment I don't gave any indigestion pain, bur I can feel the riding in my gullet. Can you have reflux without the pain?
Yes I get the same feeling with as you without any pain some times I don't even get the burning but can feel the reflux if you get what I mean?
Yeah. I have like a gurgling sound and feeling. Sometimes it's like I can feel bits of food come back. Sorry gross I know. But no pain. But it starts these flutters off.
A lot of the time I have a feeling like a huge bubble of gas around my collarbone level. Just lingering and eventually I'll burp. But that can cause s flutter or a pause.
im a smoker which can also make them worse, very scary
I get exactly what youy have just described dodo.
I'm also a smoker so that probably makes mine worse too.
Do you think it is actually gas? Or just a feeling your heart makes?
I know mine are worse at the moment because I am waiting for my period as well.
I personally think its gas what about you?
I want to believe it is but the dr just keeps saying it isn't possible. It certainly feels like it.
do you feel your breath has been taken away for a second?
Not recently but the ones I used to get, yes. They used to make me feel light headed as well.
Hope you don't mind me butting in lol but I had a REALLY painful one earlier...again :frown: I felt like I needed to burp straight after so I'm trying to think of it as trapped air! IDK though but it's reassuring to hear you guys think it is too. xx
Yep especially if I'm getting them when falling asleep it takes my breath x
Hiya emma yes I do think its gas tbh. How's the exercising goin?:yahoo:
I did it again todayyy :D Felt great after this mornin, but I started getting big missed beats just before X Factor and it's set me off into a bit of a tizz really! Gonna stick at it though! xx
Bllody missed beats. I feel like my chin as gone numb freaking out lol. Yeah keep at it I took my little girl swimming today felt great after but anxiety soon kicked back in x
Aww sounds fun and yea I always feel great after getting out and about and doing stuff but anx just seeps back in! LOL funny you should say that actually, my chin went numb/vibrated earlier and I freaked out too. Hate anxiety...so much
Oh, on topic my missed beats feel like a flutter or usually just a massive bang in my chest, sometimes painful =/ xx
Mines a flutter too  sick of anxiety x
Me too :frown:
We will ALL get thru it tho, tough times are character building! :D But for now, I'm gonna go sulk in bed and watch Family Guy I think! Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow I'll be feeling a lot better. Really hope you guys are too! xxx
Thanks Emma. Night night hun x
hi
yep i get the bubble feeling in the throat, fluttering then one or two hard beats and sometimes burp afterwards. I posted on here the other day about it. very scary isnt it?
hope that helps
lorraine
It is very scary. Has anyone had the wind link explained to them as I keep getting told it isn't possible. Does the wind cause the flutter or the flutter cause the wind?
I donk know dodo I like to think its gas causing it less scary then x
