lizzie29

Hi all

As discussed, the next meet-up will be a Christmas lunch in Chester. For anyone who wasn't at the meet-up yesterday but would like to come, it will be at the Cheshire Cat pub which is on the A41 at Chester, near Sainsbury's and the Park and Ride.

I'll post the link for the pub here:

http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/thecheshirecatchristleton/christmasbookings/

I'll have to pay a deposit and we have to order the food beforehand, so will need to know asap. Not decided on a date yet, open to suggestions! How does 18th December sound?

Brill Lizzie,

Sounds good to me too, thanks for all your hard work for these meet ups.

Erm, yeah, I'm sure they were all on the menu Paul... :winks:

I've been there loads and the food has always been good (I've jinxed that now!) and the service too.

Paul you're gonna have to stop being nice, people will get the wrong idea about you...

lizzie29

No, it'll be the one with the ping pong balls this time, but I may be inventive and use stuffing balls instead.

Hi all,

Thanks for a lovely day on Sat :) Really nice to meet up. Yes count me in for Xmas lunch, I love the Cheshire Cat, really cosy pub with a very relaxed atmosphere :) Can't wait.

If its a Saturday I won't be able to come, I was lucky on Saturday for the Llandudno meet as I managed to get a swop. December is our busiest time and noone is allowed anytime off in December. The only day free for me is Sundays.

I agree with the others Lizzie, it really is appreciated the time spent in arranging our meetups, I always enjoy them and Saturday was a real challange for me, I came home feeling really proud of myself. I think you should get an extra cracker for all your hard work. X

Hiya all,

Glad you had a good day on Saturday. Missing seeing you all.

Unfortunately I'm having some (fairly serious) physical health problems at the moment, and so I can't really commit to anything at the moment. So I'm really sorry and really gutted but doubt I will be able to make it. If anything changes, then I'll get back to you.

I'm really jealous, the Cheshire Cat is a great place for a christmas meetup meal and would've been within driving distance for me (no motorways either lol) but have already committed myself to babysitting for my daughter that weekend, but hope you guys have a great time :)

Belle, can you do a Sunday? I'm happy to change for a Sunday if everyone else is, then Belle can come...

Lima
18-11-10, 16:53
Hiya all,

As I said before, I'm having some health difficulties. I'm having frequent black outs which at the moment are uncontrollable, but I'm trying not to let it rule what I can and can't do, so if you won't mind fishing me out of my soup then I would like to come if I can. I know I'm probably pushing my luck here, but is there any chance it could be it a little earlier than the last weekend before Christmas?

Lima x

lizzie29
18-11-10, 20:56
I can't do any other weekend.

lizzie29
18-11-10, 21:10
Paul you're wasted in your current work, you should go into poetry writing! Either that or become an escort, I'm sure you could impress the ladies with the white lightning!

I am actually a fan of Mccoys - steak or cheese and onion, yummy! I'm a classy bird me! x

diane07
18-11-10, 22:09
I can't do any other weekend as i'm helping my mum move house and with the run up to christmas with my little one time is getting really short with things to do she has her christmas fairs and i still need to get her pressies sorted.

I say christmas fairs as i have to take her to the one at her new school and the one at her old school back on the wirral, it was a promise i made to her.

But i dont mind not coming if it suits and helps others :hugs:

lizzie29
18-11-10, 22:11
Well Paul and I can't do any other weekend, so looks like we'll go for Sunday 19th, that ok Di? I posted about changing to the Sunday as Belle couldn't do the Saturday.

diane07
18-11-10, 22:17

lizzie29
19-11-10, 15:52

belle854
19-11-10, 15:58
If you guys don't mind changing to the Sunday I will be able to come, sorry for being the one to mess things up. I must have the worst job in the world when its coming up to christmas its utter madness, youve not seen anything like it. The place looks lovely Lizzie so we will have to make sure we take our cameras this time. Is everyone ok with the change of date? Please

belle854
19-11-10, 16:12
For some reason I didn't read the posts on page 4 and had sent my post before I had seen that the day had been changed to the Sunday, so really sorry for being dumb. Thankyou all for changing it as I would of been really disappointed to miss it. Can I ask who is going for the 3 courses as I wouldn't want to order 3 courses if others are just having 2 courses, don't want to look a pig:blush:.

Lizzie - When do you need to know what we want and also how you would like payment.

Belle X

lizzie29
19-11-10, 16:36
I'll prob just go for 2 courses. If I have a big meal at lunchtime I get really sleepy lol! But just go for what you want Belle, we'll still call you a pig anyway!

Can you all please pm me what you want foodwise asap? Are you all okay to send cheques to me? If I can get cheques and orders within the next 2 weeks then that'd be great, that'll be the start of December so should be okay timewise.

Pm your orders and then I'll give you my address. x

lizzie29
19-11-10, 16:37

diane07
19-11-10, 18:57

lizzie29
19-11-10, 19:00
Bagsy the meat! Might order something different then if I get half of your Christmas dinner! :winks:

diane07
19-11-10, 19:03
Go for it lizzie, it'll be like a buffet dinner :roflmao:

lizzie29
19-11-10, 19:05
Hey that's a good idea! Maybe I won't order anything and just eat whatever everyone else leaves... there's bound to be a piece of lemon from the prawns, a few sprouts and a bit of turkey fat. YUM!

diane07
19-11-10, 19:08
lizzie you could offer to scrape all the plates, think of all the grub you'll get :roflmao:

Where will we be meeting?

lizzie29
19-11-10, 22:57
Hi Poppy!

Yes, by all means come! We're meeting at the Cheshire Cat on the A41 near Sainsbury's, do you know it?

http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/thecheshirecatchristleton/

That's the website, and if you want the menu it's the festive menu. We have to book in advance and pay deposits and choose our food, so can you please let me know soon if you're coming and what you want? Obviously if you just want to join us for a drink that's okay too! x

Going home
20-11-10, 00:38
Sorry lizzie, i wasn't ignoring you but didn't realise you'd asked me where I live  I live on the staffs/shrops border but my brother lives in Chester and I visit him regularly at weekends so it would definately be possible to join at least one meeting at some point :) But I lived in Winsford many years ago and the Cheshire Cat was a regular haunt in those days so I know it well, and on the A41 I pass it on the way to and from my brother's place. It might not be a regular meet up but would be lovely to meet you all occasionally. That make any sense?

You're all so brave. have a great time. Let me know next summer when you are going to be having a picnic in a wide open space, no walls and no other people lol.

lizzie29
20-11-10, 10:29
Anna - No problem, I'd forgotten I asked you that anyway! We try to meet up once a month, so keep on eye on the threads and hopefully you can join us at one! x

Chem - we can definitely do a picnic in the summer, where would you feel comfortable? I can't remember where you live sorry, I'm sure you've told me! x

lizzie29
20-11-10, 11:38
That's so cute! Kids are ace :)

Crowds don't bother me, so am happy to go with whatever. If I choose somewhere that people think will be too crowded then just say.

belle854
20-11-10, 18:41
If im in a building I like to know where the exit is and not be too far away from it, if I can see a door out im usually ok. Crowds I hate, I get very tense but try to deal with it. I use to think im odd but its a common problem which people just feel to embarrassed to talk about. Thats why I love you guys so much because when im in your company its ok to be worried or afraid or go into a state of panic, usually though I remain calm thats because we are altogether for the same reason. Im so glad we are friends. :)

Lizzie, when you book our table would it be possible to be nearish the door with out sitting in a draft!

May santa get you all what you wish for cos you all so deserve it for the kindness you show to others.

It was the wedding you went to the year before and you thought it was fancy dress (oh the shame) that you were dressed as the gherkin. pfft tsk! what you like here's the video of you on the dance floor. Thought it much kinder to mention the bobbly gherkin, its okay i won't tell anyone about that either, i did see lizzie with some tweezers but i wasn't quite sure whether she wanted to pluck your eyebrows, will have to ask her about that.
