View Full Version : New girl
Hello, I am new to this website, have had quite extreme anxiety on and off for ten years now...
It got quite bad last year after a lot of changes over the year before, boyfriend of five yrs left, moved home, my manager left, leaving me to manage 12 ppl.
I went to Greece on holiday and I was nervous before I went cos it was a completely diff holiday to what I usually do and I am frightened of flying...
The first night, I completely froze with anxiety and had loads of symptoms that I had never experienced with panic attacks before, I wanted to go home but couldnt, felt I was going mad!!
It lasted the whole hol on and off and then when I got home, I couldnt go back to work for a while..
I am scared it is getting worse not better and I dont know if anyone else has had that on holiday before.

Hiya Maxxie,
Welcome aboard, and you'll find a lot of comfort and advice here.
Panic attacks and suchlike can be brought on by association, often negative thoughts. For example, being on holiday without your b/f may have brought it on, or maybe you yearned for the 'safety' of your home.
I was once bad on holiday because I did not find the freedom I wanted, and also the weather was cold and damp!
Take Care,

Thank you for your advice, I hope to find some friends here, getting used to chatting online, lol.
I just hope that I am not limiting my life now as every time I think of going away and even changing my job that feeling comes of dread and panic sets in.
I do understand it is common, but I have never met anyone who doesnt enjoy going on holiday and I so wanted to enjoy it!
A big welcome to the site :)
