Can I take Voltrol & Citalopram

I have jujst been given Citalopram 20 mg and also have Voltrol use for when I get back aches, but only take it for two/three days at a time

can I carry on taking this if I get a back ache or not.

The doc said I could take ibruphen, but forgot to mention the Voltrol

Anyone have a similar thing or advise

Hi Phil, there is supposed to be an increased risk of intestinal bleeding if you take NSAID painkillers (ibuprofen, Voltrol) with SSRIs but my doc gave me Voltrol (diclofenac) for my back even though I take Prozac - so I suppose it's something they aren't too worried about. I've not had any problems .

I have taken both together when I was on Cits years ago and I have a problem in the fact I dont clot. I never had any side effects that I recall
